Our office is up on the sixth floor of Vishwa Nanak, which is right on the ICT Link Road in Chakala, Andheri East. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how hectic it gets with the metro construction and the constant stream of cars and bikes. We’ve been based here for a while now, dealing with the mercantile side of things. Our space is 602, and it’s usually filled with the sound of phones ringing and people talking about shipping schedules. We deal with paper and pulp products mostly, so there are always samples lying around the tables. It’s a busy environment because the market moves fast and prices change. We don’t really have time for polished presentations or fancy corporate talk. Most of our days are spent negotiating prices or making sure a shipment cleared the port on time. The view from the window is just more buildings and traffic, which reminds us how much is happening in Andheri every day. We’ve got a small kitchen where we make tea, and that’s usually where the real talk happens among the staff. It’s a bit cramped when we have a lot of files to go through, but we make it work. We aren't a massive multinational; we’re just a group of people who understand the trade and keep showing up to make sure things stay on track. That is really all there is to it.
