Cat Inc

Our business, Cat Inc, is run out of a small room in the Baliram J Kadam Chawl on Pp Road. It is Room No A 4 in the Ambawadi area of Andheri. If you know Mumbai, you know that space is hard to come by, and we make the most of what we have. It is a lively neighborhood where you can always hear children playing or people talking in the corridors. We are right in the middle of a residential area, which gives the work a very different feel than being in a business park. Our room is packed with files and a few computers. It gets quite cramped when all of us are in at the same time. The walls could probably use some work, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it gets the air moving. We’ve been in Andheri for a long time and we like being close to the action. The commute can be a nightmare with the traffic on Pp Road, so many of us walk or use the local buses. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. We just try to handle the tasks we have and make sure the bills are paid. It is a very humble setup, but it suits us just fine. We know everyone in the chawl and they know us. It feels more like a community than just a place of work.
