Cam -Tek

We are tucked away in Gala No. D11 on the ground floor over in Kanchpada. If you know Malad West, you know how busy Ramchandra Lane Extension can get. Cam -Tek is right there in the thick of it. The space is a bit small, so we have to be careful about where we put everything. It’s mostly just us working on the machines and checking the output. The walls are a bit stained from years of work, and there’s always a bit of a hum from the fans. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. Usually, you just walk in and someone will be there at a bench or a desk. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting and making sure the parts are right. It’s a lot of manual work and staying on your feet. Lunch is usually whatever we brought from home, eaten quickly so we can get back to it. The street outside is always noisy with tempos and rickshaws, but we don't notice it much anymore. We’ve been in this gala for years and know all the other workshop owners nearby. It’s a tight-knit spot. We don’t do much fancy talk here. We just show up, do the work, and head home when the shutters go down. Sometimes the lights flicker when the neighbor uses his heavy welder, but we just keep going. It gets dusty, but that’s just part of the job.
