Global Traders

You can find Global Traders at Shop No 3, right on Station Road. Kela Market is right there, so it is always crowded and full of life. Byculla West is one of those places that never really sleeps. Our shop is small, but we try to stock a bit of everything that people ask for. I took over from my father about ten years ago. He still comes in sometimes to sit on the stool and talk to the old customers. We do not have a computer system for the stock; we just use a big notebook and our memory. It works well enough for us. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but the shelves are sturdy. Being so close to the station means we get a lot of people just dropping in while they are commuting. I usually have the radio on in the background, playing some old songs. The Kela Market area has its own rhythm. We know the other shopkeepers around here, and we help each other out if someone runs out of change or needs a hand lifting something heavy. It is not a polished business, just a local trader doing what we know. We close up around eight every night, unless someone is late and calls ahead. There is always a stray cat that hangs around the entrance, and we give it some milk now and then.
