Anas Store

Anas Store is a small shop located at A-8 in the Lambi Cement Chawl. We are right on Byculla Station Road in Byculla West. It is a very old part of the city and the building shows its age. We have been here for a long time. The shop is narrow and we have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. It can be hard to reach things at the top without a stool. We sell a variety of daily items that the local people need. Since we are near the station, we get people rushing in all day long. It's a very noisy street with trains and cars constantly moving. We don't have any air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that creaks a bit. The floor is old stone and it’s seen a lot of feet. We know most of the regulars by their names. It’s the kind of place where people stop to talk for a minute before moving on. We don't have a computer system, we just use a ledger and a calculator. It’s an honest way to spend the day. Byculla is a crowded neighborhood but there’s a sense of community here. We just open the shutters early and stay until the evening commuters are gone. It’s a basic shop for basic needs.
