We’ve been running Buchi Smp Services out of this spot in the Magnum Opus building for a good while now. Shantinagar Industrial Area isn’t the quietest place in Santacruz East, but it works for what we do. You’ll find us at unit 201. Most days start pretty early because the traffic around Vakola gets backed up fast, and if you don't get the shutters up by eight, you’re already behind. It’s a lot of hands-on work here. We deal with various service jobs that keep us busy from morning till the sun goes down. The workshop floor isn’t fancy, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s a functional space. We spend most of our time looking at parts and making sure the equipment is behaving. Our neighbor downstairs runs a small canteen, so the smell of tea and fried snacks usually drifts up around eleven. It’s a tight-knit community in this part of the estate. Everyone knows each other's business to some extent. We just try to get through the daily list of tasks without too many hiccups. Sometimes the power fluctuates or a delivery is late, which is just part of being in this area. We handle the paperwork in the small office nook, though it’s usually piled high with receipts and old logs. It’s a regular job for us, and we’ve gotten used to the noise and the dust over the years.
