Room No 3 at Sanjay Nagar is the home of Bsa Logistics, over in the Sunder Baug area of Kurla West. Anyone who knows Mumbai understands that Kurla is a place that is always moving and always very crowded. Our space is pretty modest, just a spot to handle the paperwork and keep track of where all the goods are going throughout the week. We deal with a lot of local transport and keeping things moving through the city’s narrow lanes. It’s a lot of talking on the phone with drivers and trying to figure out exactly where they are stuck in the traffic. The office is right there in the mix of everything, so we hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long. We don’t have a big sign or a polished front desk with a receptionist. It’s a practical setup for people who actually do the heavy work. We spend our time checking lists, making sure the weights are right, and talking to clients who drop by with questions. Sometimes the heat gets to be a bit much, but we have a small fan that does its best to keep us cool. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with big talk or fancy words; we just do the job. It’s about making sure the crates get moved and the signatures are collected in the ledger. Most of us live nearby, so it’s a local operation. We just keep our heads down and work.
