Bread Talk

Bread Talk is right on Malad West Dinnur Main Road 17, and if you know that road, you know how crazy the traffic gets. I’m usually here before the sun is even up, getting the first batch of stuff ready. The kitchen gets really hot, and there is flour on almost every surface by ten in the morning. People in Malad West are always on the go, so they pop in, grab something, and head out to catch a bus or an auto. We don't have fancy furniture or anything like that. It’s just a practical spot where we bake things. Sometimes a batch doesn't come out looking perfect, but it still tastes like it should. We spend a lot of time sweeping the floor because crumbs get everywhere. Being at Dinnur Main Road 17 means we see a lot of the neighborhood drama through the front window. It’s a small team of us here. We argue about the radio sometimes, but we get the work done. It’s honest work, even if my hands are always dry from the flour and washing up. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just make the bread and the buns and hope people like them enough to come back. It’s a simple life in a busy part of Malad, just keeping the ovens warm and the shelves full.
