Working out of the Kanal Industrial Estate in Borivali East means you get used to the noise of the area pretty fast. We are located on Road No-6 in Daulat Nagar, which is a place that never really seems to go to sleep. There is always a truck idling nearby or someone loading crates onto a tempo. Our space at number 15 is basically a large functional area where we handle all our biotech stuff. It isn’t the cleanest street in the world, especially when the monsoon hits and the roads get a bit messy, but it’s where we’ve always been. Inside, it’s a different story with the clean benches and the storage units, though the office part always has a bit of dust on the windowsills no matter how much we wipe them. We spend most of our shift checking batches and making sure the climate control is holding steady for the materials. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans are usually going at full speed. We take our lunches together at a small table in the back corner. Most of the staff live nearby, so we know the local shortcuts to avoid the worst of the traffic on the way home. It’s just a regular industrial unit doing regular work, and we don't try to make it seem like anything else.
