We are over at Gala Number 2 in the P.V.K Compound. To get here, you have to turn down Laxminarayan Mandir Marg, which is just off Kherani Road in Sakinaka. Anyone who lives in Mumbai knows how the traffic is in Sakinaka, so we usually get here early to beat the rush. Bombay Pharma Equipments is a small operation. We work on the machinery that pharmaceutical companies use. It’s a lot of stainless steel and welding. The gala is a bit tight on space, especially when we have a big project going on. We have tools hanging on the walls and spare parts tucked into every corner. The temple nearby is a good landmark for people trying to find us. Usually, the air is thick with the sound of grinding metal. We aren't a big corporation with suits; we are usually in our work clothes with grease under our fingernails. It’s a practical environment. We spend our days looking at technical drawings and making sure the pumps and tanks are fitting together correctly. We have a small desk for the paperwork, but most of the action happens on the floor. It’s a bit noisy and messy, but that’s how manufacturing goes. We take our tea from the guy who comes around with the kettle twice a day. It’s a decent place to work if you don’t mind getting your hands dirty.
