Bombay Bearings

Bombay Bearings is located at 132 Narayan Dhuru Street. This street is famous for all kinds of hardware and tools, so it is always crowded with laborers, handcarts, and delivery trucks. Our shop is right in the middle of all that activity. It is a bit of a dusty place because of all the metal and heavy boxes being moved around constantly. We have shelves stacked high with different items from the floor to the ceiling. It is not the kind of place where you come to sit down and relax. It is a place for hard business. We spend the day looking up parts and talking to people who come in looking for very specific sizes or types. The lights inside are a bit dim, but we have worked here long enough that we know where everything is kept. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to find an older item tucked at the very back of a high shelf. We have been on Narayan Dhuru Street for many years. The noise of the traffic and people shouting outside is constant. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights. Just the wooden counter and the stock. We wear casual clothes because the work can be a bit dirty with the grease and the metal dust. It is a straightforward way to make a living. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to provide what people need. Most of the other shopkeepers nearby are our friends. We sometimes share a tea when things slow down.
