Sweet Memories

Bhayander East is a crowded place and our shop Sweet Memories is right in the middle of all that noise. We spend a lot of time just arranging the things on the shelves so they look okay to people walking in. The shop isn't very large and when more than three people come in at once it feels really tight. Mumbai is always humid and that makes it a bit tough when you are working behind a counter all day long. Most of our morning is spent cleaning the glass cases and making sure the floor is swept before the first people start arriving from the train station. You can hear the trains from here and it’s a constant sound in the background of everything we do. We have a lot of stuff packed into the cabinets and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what someone is asking for. The lights flicker sometimes because the wiring in this part of Bhayander is a bit old. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of us who take turns being here from morning till night. We try to keep things simple and just handle the daily work without making too much of a fuss. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun but everyone around here knows where we are. It is a humble place that has been around for a while now and we just keep going.
