We are located at B-2 in Hatkesh Udyog Nagar. It’s right off the Mira-Bhayander Road. If you come by, you’ll probably hear the sound of metal being pressed from the street. That’s what we do here at Bhawani Utensils. We make things people use in their kitchens every day. The factory floor is always busy. There’s a lot of heat from the machines and the smell of raw metal in the air. It’s not the cleanest place, but it’s where the work gets done. We’ve been here for a long time. The workers have been with us for years. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. The trucks come in to load up the finished pots and pans. Sometimes there’s a delay with the raw material delivery, and we just have to wait around. We don't have a big fancy office. Just a small room with a table where we keep the registers and files. It’s a family-run kind of thing, even if the name sounds official. We care about making things that don't break. If a machine breaks down, we spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. It’s just part of the job. Mira-Bhayander has changed a lot since we started, more buildings and more traffic now. But inside our gates, it’s still the same old routine. We just keep making the utensils and sending them out to the shops.
