Bharati Shipyard Ltd.

We are situated in the 19, Bombay Mutual Building, right on Sir P.M. Road in the Fort area. Our office is at number 19. If you’ve ever walked around Fort, you know how those old buildings are. Bharati Shipyard Ltd. has been operating from here for a good amount of time. The ceilings are high and the hallways are narrow, which is just how these historic places are built. It’s a very practical space for us. We spend our days looking over plans and handling the administrative side of the shipyard business. There is always a lot of paper moving around. Fort is a busy hub, so there is constant noise from the street below, but we’ve gotten used to it. It’s a working office, not a gallery. We have our desks, our computers, and stacks of files related to the ships we work on. It isn't a place where we try to look corporate. We just focus on the tasks at hand. Most of us have been with the company long enough that the office feels like a second home, even with the creaky floors. We like being in this part of the city because everything is close by. It’s just a normal day-to-day existence for us here at the Bombay Mutual Building. We keep the doors open and the fans running even when it gets humid.
