Bawani Auto Hardware House

Bawani Auto Hardware House is tucked into shop number 1 at Sardar Chawl in Andheri West. We are right near the D area. It’s a small space, so we have to use every inch of the walls to hang tools and stack boxes of hardware. We carry a bit of everything—some auto parts, some nuts and bolts, and various tools for repairs. It’s the kind of place where you have to move a ladder just to reach the back of the store. Dealing with the heat in Andheri is a bit much sometimes since we don't have a big AC unit, just a couple of fans that we keep running all day. People from the chawl and the nearby buildings come in for random things, like a new padlock or a specific wrench for a sink. We try to keep track of everything, but every now and then we find a box of stuff we forgot we had. It's just me and a couple of others working here. We aren't some big chain store. We know our regulars by name. Sometimes we close a bit early if the weather is really bad or if there’s a family thing, but usually, we are here from morning till late. It’s a bit cramped and dusty, but it’s where we do our work. We just try to help people find what they need for their home or car.
