Ganesh Tailoring Materials

If you go near the Hanuman Mandir in Kherwadi, Bandra East, you’ll find Ganesh Tailoring Materials at Shop No. 2 on Plot 63. We’ve got shelves full of threads, zips, buttons, and all sorts of things people need for sewing. It’s a small space, so it feels a bit cramped when more than two people come in at the same time. We spend most of the morning dusting off the boxes and organizing the different colors of yarn. It’s hard to keep everything in order when people are always rummaging through the button jars looking for that one specific size. Being in Bandra East means there’s always a lot of activity outside, especially near the temple. We hear the bells ringing and people chatting all day long. My hands are usually covered in some kind of lint or chalk by the end of the shift. We don't do the actual sewing here; we just provide the bits and pieces that the tailors use. Sometimes people come in with a scrap of fabric and ask us to find a perfect match, which can take a while. The light in the shop isn't the best, so we often step outside to the pavement to see the colors properly in the sun. It’s a simple life. We know the local tailors and the ladies who do embroidery at home. There is no fancy branding here. Just a sign over the door and a lot of boxes inside.
