You can find Balaji Stone Traders & Co. out at 114, Shree Krishna Industrial Estate. We are right opposite the Dahisar Toll Naka which makes it easy for the trucks to find us. Dealing with stone is heavy and dirty work so our yard is never really clean. There is always a bit of dust in the air and the sound of machines working nearby. We spend our days moving slabs and checking the stock we have in hand. It is not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We are usually in old clothes that we don't mind getting ruined. The office is just a small room in the corner of the estate unit. We have a table and some chairs where we talk to people who come to see the materials. We don't do any big fancy displays. We just show them what is available in the yard and they decide. Most of our customers are locals or builders who have been working with us for a long time. It gets very hot in the afternoons but we have a good ceiling fan that helps a bit. We drink a lot of water and tea to stay sharp. It is a simple way of living and working. We don't make big promises or use complicated words. We just provide the stone and try to be fair with everyone who walks through the gate.
