B. Vijay Kumar & Co.

B. Vijay Kumar & Co. has its office in Mehta Bhavan, up on the 6th floor. We are located right across from Albless Baugh on Charni Road. It’s an old part of Mumbai, and the building reflects that. The elevator has that old-fashioned metal gate that you have to pull shut yourself. Once you get up to our floor, it’s usually quite busy. We have a lot of paperwork to get through every day, so the desks are usually covered in files and notes. The view out toward Albless Baugh is nice, especially when there is a wedding or some event going on over there. Our team is small and we’ve worked together for years, so we don’t really have many secrets from each other. We talk about our families while we work and share whatever snacks someone brought from home. It’s not a polished corporate office with glass partitions. We have old wooden cabinets and chairs that have been around since the company started. We just focus on getting our work done right. The neighborhood is great because everything is close by, though the traffic on Charni Road can be a nightmare during rush hour. We just stay a bit later to let the crowds thin out. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day, and we are happy with how things are set up here.
