B A Mould Works

Our workshop is at Plot No 26 in the Cama Municipal Industrial area in Goregaon East. We are right opposite the Remi Group building, which is much bigger and fancier than our place. We do mould work, so it’s a very hands-on and messy job. There is always the sound of metal hitting metal and the smell of hot plastic or wax. The walls are stained and the floor is never really clean no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of the work. Goregaon East is full of these small industrial units, so it’s a very noisy and busy atmosphere. We don’t have an air conditioner, just a few big pedestal fans that move the hot air around. We’ve been in this plot for years. The guys working here have been with me for a long time, and we all know how to handle the equipment. We don’t have a sales team or anyone to answer the phones in a professional way. Usually, someone just yells to get my attention if the phone rings over the noise of the grinders. We aren't looking to expand into some massive factory. We just like making good moulds that work the way they’re supposed to. Sometimes we stay late when a job is difficult, just drinking tea and figuring out the dimensions. It’s a tough way to make a living, but it’s what we know how to do.
