Being located at Fair Link Center means we are right near the Monginish Cake Factory, so the air around the building often smells like baking bread or sweets. It’s a nice change from the usual city smells of Andheri West. Our office spans a few units, from 801 to 803, which sounds like a lot, but once you fill it with files, samples, and people, it feels quite cozy. We spend a lot of time on the New Link Road, either stuck in traffic or heading out to meet vendors. It’s an export and import kind of life, which means we are always checking clocks to see what time it is in other parts of the world. There’s usually a stack of shipping documents on someone’s desk and a few half-empty chai cups. We don't have a receptionist in a suit; you just walk in and someone will look up from their computer and wave you over. The walls are covered in calendars and maps because that is what we need to keep track of everything. It’s a bit noisy with the construction outside and the constant ping of emails, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We just keep our heads down and make sure the goods move from point A to point B without too many hiccups along the way. Sometimes we stay late when a shipment is delayed, but we just order in some food and keep at it.
