This shop in Girgaon, 30/D on the ground floor, Re, has been my second home for a long time. It’s a bit dark inside because we have so many metal parts stacked up to the ceiling. You can smell the engine oil as soon as you step in. We don't really bother with decorating the place. It’s just shelves and drawers full of bolts, filters, and things I can't even name half the time without looking at the catalog. People come here when their cars or bikes act up. We aren't mechanics, we just supply the parts they need to get things running again. The floor is concrete and has some stains that won't ever come out. That's just part of being an auto product shop. I usually sit at the old wooden desk near the entrance. Sometimes it gets lonely if it's a slow day, but usually, there's a driver or a garage owner coming in to haggle over prices. Girgaon is a busy neighborhood, and the street noise never really stops. We try to keep the popular items in the front so we don't have to climb the ladder every ten minutes. My hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the day from handling the metal stock. It’s a simple life. We open early and close when the last customer leaves. It’s not a big corporate office, just a local spot where people get their spare parts and go about their day.
