Audio Concepts

This is not a big store in a shopping mall or anything like that. We are located in Building 15 in Andheri West, up on the ninth floor in flat 902. It is more like a workshop or a private demo room than a traditional shop. I started Audio Concepts because I just really liked how things sounded and wanted to share that. My living room is basically full of speakers, black wires, and different types of amplifiers. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than two people come over at once to check out the gear. People come here when they want to set up something special for their homes but do not want the basic stuff you buy at the big chain stores. We spend a lot of time just listening to different setups. Sometimes the neighbors probably get a bit annoyed with the loud bass, but we try to keep it reasonable during the daylight hours. Living and working in Andheri means it is always loud outside anyway. I do a lot of the work myself, though sometimes I have a friend help with the heavy lifting or the complicated wiring jobs. It is a messy process. There are always cardboard boxes from recent shipments piled up in the corner. I do not really have a secretary or any kind of formal reception area. If the phone rings and I am soldering something, I might not pick up right away. It is just a small operation. (259 words)
