Our studio is tucked away in Mohan Villa, specifically at 104 D on Bajaj Road in Ville Parle West. It is a nice enough spot, though Bajaj Road can get a bit crowded with people and cars moving toward the station. The villa has that old-school feel that you still find in parts of Parle, which is a nice change from all the new glass buildings popping up everywhere. We spend most of our time here at the desks, mostly surrounded by rolls of tracing paper and a few half-dead plants that we forget to water sometimes. It is not a large office, but it fits what we need. You have to walk up a bit to get to us. Usually, the windows are open to let some air in, even if it means hearing the neighborhood sounds all afternoon. We do not really go for that corporate look, so the place is a bit cluttered with samples and scale models that we have not found a permanent home for yet. Sometimes the neighbor’s cat wanders near the door, and the local tea stall guy knows exactly when we need a break. It is a practical workspace where we focus on the actual building part of things rather than looking polished for show. We like the neighborhood because everything is close by, and it feels like a real community rather than just a business district. It is just a regular place where we work hard and try to get things right.
