Astral Designs

Our office is over in Elphinstone Road, inside Naman Midtown. We’re in B-508, which is right next to the Indiabull Finance Centre. It’s a very busy part of Mumbai, especially with Senapati Bapat Marg being right there. At Astral Designs, we spend most of our time staring at screens and sketches. The building is quite modern, but our actual workspace is pretty lived-in and cluttered with samples and drawings. We get a lot of light in the afternoons, which is nice. Most of us have been working together for a while, so we know each other's habits. There’s usually a bit of back and forth about design details or how to handle a specific site issue. It’s not always a smooth process; there are plenty of debates and changes along the way. We take our work seriously but don't feel the need to dress up in suits every day. It's more about getting the measurements right and making sure the contractors know what they are doing. Being in this location means we are close to a lot of suppliers and other businesses, which makes things a bit easier when we need to go out and check on materials. The lifts in the building can be slow during lunch hours, so we’ve learned to plan our movements around that. It's just a regular office doing regular work for people who need things built. No fuss, just the daily grind.
