Asian Tapes

If you look for us, we’re on the first floor of the RANGMAHAL building on SAMUEL STREET. It’s right in the heart of VADGADI, which is always a bit of a mess with all the handcarts and trucks trying to get through the lanes. The building is old, and you can smell the spices and chemicals from the other shops nearby. Our space is 212/216, and it’s mostly just walls of tape rolls stacked up to the ceiling. We have all kinds like masking tape, packing tape, and the heavy stuff for industrial use. It gets quite hot in there during the afternoon, especially since the fans are old and don't move much air. We spend most of our time packing orders and labeling them for dispatch. The floors are a bit uneven, and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we do. My brother and I run the place with a couple of helpers who have been with us for years. We know the local porters by name, and they know exactly where to bring our supplies. There isn’t much room for a proper desk, so we usually just clear a bit of a counter to write out the bills. It’s a busy, cramped life in the market, but it’s what we know. People come and go all day, asking about prices or looking for a specific type of adhesive. We just keep plugging away.
