Up on the fifth floor of Everest House, specifically B 501 and 502, we spend a lot of time looking out at the Gundavali skyline. Surren Road is always a mess of traffic, so we hear the horns honking all day long. It’s a busy office. We have tables covered in fabric swatches, wood samples, and big rolls of drawings. It’s not the neatest place, but it’s where we get things done. We walk around with measuring tapes and coffee mugs. Sometimes the elevators in Everest House take forever, so we end up chatting in the lobby. We are a small team and we know each other's coffee orders by heart. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking on site progress. We don't really do the corporate thing with fancy speeches. We just sit around the table and figure out how to make a room look decent. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is coming up, and we usually order some food from the local place downstairs. The light in the office is actually quite good in the mornings. We have a few plants that we keep forgetting to water. It’s just a regular office where we work on homes and try to keep our files somewhat organized. It’s a bit of a climb to get here, but it's okay because the tea shop nearby is really good and they deliver to us.
