Arihant Gruh Vastu Bhandar

You can find my shop, Arihant Gruh Vastu Bhandar, over on Shell Colony Road in Chembur. We are right across from Central Colony, which is a big landmark for anyone living around here. The shop is full of all sorts of things for the house. I’ve got stainless steel pots, plastic buckets, cleaning supplies, and basically anything someone might need for their kitchen or bathroom. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because I like to keep a lot of stock on the shelves so people have choices. Sometimes things get a bit dusty, and I have to spend my mornings with a cloth cleaning the tops of the plastic containers. Customers from Shell Colony walk over all day. They usually want something small like a new ladle or a storage bin for their grains. I’ve been in this spot for a while now, and I know most of the faces that pass by the shop every day. It’s a regular neighborhood store. I don’t use any computer for the billing, just a pen and a notepad to keep track of what I sell. The afternoon sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard, so I usually pull the blue awning down a bit to keep it cool inside. It’s a lot of work carrying the heavy boxes when new stock arrives on the truck, but it keeps me busy. I like talking to the residents about what’s going on in the colony while I wrap up their purchases.
