About Architecture Master Class – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Mumbai
We are situated in Andheri, inside the Ashish Building 24 CHS. It’s a typical Andheri apartment building that we’ve converted into a workspace. It feels a bit like a home because of the layout. We call it a master class because we do a lot of teaching along with the regular architectural work. There are usually students or junior architects hanging around, which keeps the place feeling alive. We have a lot of whiteboards on the walls covered in scribbles and diagrams that probably don't make sense to anyone else. The kitchen area is mostly used for making endless rounds of coffee and washing out ink brushes. There are chairs everywhere because we’re always pulling them together for a quick meeting or a lesson. The balcony has a few dying plants and a view of the neighboring buildings. It’s not a corporate setup at all. You’ll see shoes kicked off near the door and stacks of magazines on the floor. I like the atmosphere because it’s creative without being stiff. We spend a lot of time talking about designs and then trying to figure out how to actually build them. It’s a lot of trial and error. The computer fans are always humming in the background. It’s a busy, somewhat cluttered space where we spend most of our waking hours. We just enjoy the process of making things and teaching others how to do it too. It works.
