Architect Sultan Chambyal

You can find us at Goyal Shopping, Office No 208, which is in Bhusari Colony on Paud Road in Borivali West. It’s a bit of a climb sometimes, but we’re here most days. Architect Sultan Chambyal is basically just a few of us trying to make sense of construction projects. The office isn't anything special to look at, just desks and a lot of rolls of tracing paper. We spend a lot of time on the phone with contractors or trying to explain why a certain wall can't be moved. It’s practical work. We aren't doing anything world-changing, just helping people get their homes or shops built the way they need them. Sometimes the drawings take longer than expected because the site measurements weren't perfect the first time. That happens. We just go back and fix it. Borivali is a busy place, and being in the shopping complex means there's always something going on outside the door. We usually have the radio on and just get through the day's tasks. Designing things is mostly about solving little puzzles, like how to fit a bathroom in a tight corner. We don't use big words or try to act like we know everything. We just do the drawings and hope the rain doesn't stall the construction. It's a lot of mundane stuff like checking light fixtures or measuring door frames, but it fills the day. We stay busy and we keep it simple here because that is what works for us.
