About Ankur Ralhan Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Mumbai
Working out of Borivali West is always interesting because of the fast pace of the city. Our space is in the Goyal Sho building, specifically Flat No 201 in the B Wing. It’s a typical residential-commercial mix where you hear the sounds of neighbors and the street below all at once. Ankur Ralhan runs the show here, and he’s usually buried under a mountain of site reports and permit applications. The office feels more like a home than a business place, which we kind of like. We have our computers set up in what used to be a living room, and the kitchen area is mostly for making tea and storing old rolls of drawings. Thergaon is a busy area, so getting here in the morning can be a bit of a struggle with the traffic, but once we’re inside, it’s all about the work. We don't have fancy signs or a big lobby. People usually just ring the doorbell and come in. There’s a lot of talk about materials and how much things cost these days. We spend a lot of hours staring at screens and making small adjustments to floor plans. The furniture is a bit mismatched because we just added pieces as we needed them over the years. It’s a functional setup for an architect who just wants to get things built without a lot of fuss. We stay late a lot, especially when a deadline is coming up.
