Ankur International

Ankur International is up on the first floor of the Elavia Building, right in the Gautam Textile Market area. Being near Ring Road and Matunga West means we are in the heart of the fabric trade. Our office is usually filled with swatches of cloth and large rolls of material leaning against the walls. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the samples we keep on hand. We spend our time talking to suppliers and checking the quality of the textiles coming through. It’s a busy place, especially when the new seasons' fabrics arrive. We aren't trying to be a high-end boutique; we are a trading house that deals with the reality of the market. The building itself is old and has a lot of character, just like most of the shops around Matunga. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit because there are so many bags of stock everywhere. We have a small team that handles the orders and makes sure everything gets shipped out on time. The noise from the Ring Road is always there in the background, but we are used to it by now. The stairs can be a bit steep when you're carrying a heavy load, but we've gotten used to it. Most people stop in for a quick look at the latest prints and then move on to the next shop in the market.
