Raj Electricals

Raj Electricals takes up units 102, 103, and 104 in the Madhu Industrial Estate. We are on Mogra Lane in Andheri East, which is a very busy industrial hub. Having three units side by side gives us a good amount of space to store all the electrical supplies we carry. The air always smells a bit like copper and plastic because of all the wires and components. Since we are in an industrial estate, it’s never really quiet. There are always tempos being loaded or unloaded right outside our shutters. Andheri East is a bit of a nightmare for traffic, so we are used to the constant honking and the hustle. Inside, the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. We have ladders everywhere so we can reach the top boxes. We don't have a fancy showroom; it’s more like a functional warehouse with a couple of desks for the billing. Most of us have been working here for years and we know exactly where every little fuse or switch is kept. We usually have a radio playing in the background to keep things lively. The floor is concrete and it’s seen a lot of wear and tear over the years. We take our tea breaks together in the small alleyway between the units when it’s not raining. It’s hard work, moving heavy coils of wire and crates of bulbs, but it’s what we do here.
