Hindustan Motors Mfg Co operates out of 32-A in the Vidaya Villa Compound. It’s on Old Nagrdas Rd., which is a street that’s seen a lot of history. Our workshop is tucked away inside the compound. It’s not a brand-new facility, but it has everything we need to build and fix motors. The walls are a bit stained from years of work, and there’s always a faint smell of grease in the air. We have a few old workbenches that have been with us since the beginning. Most of us have been working here for years, so we know the quirks of the place. It’s not a high-tech factory. We do a lot of things by hand and use machines that have been around for a while. The compound can get a bit tight when trucks are trying to turn around. We spend our days winding coils and testing parts. It’s noisy work, but we’re used to it. We don't have a website that we update or anything like that. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking into the compound. We just stick to what we know. There's a small cabin where we keep the ledgers, but we’re rarely in there. We prefer being out where the motors are. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living. We keep things moving and get the motors back to people as fast as possible.
