Amtex Awards

You can find Amtex Awards over in Malad West at Kumar Compound, which is on SVR Road near Vijaykar Wadi. We’ve been making trophies and plaques in this spot for quite a while now. The workshop is always full of the smell of cut wood and polished metal. We have rows of little plastic figures and wooden bases waiting to be put together for different clients. It’s a nice kind of work because usually, people are buying things for a happy occasion, like a school sports day or a company event. We spend a lot of time at the engraving machine. It’s loud and makes a sharp sound, but seeing the names appear on the brass is always satisfying for us. We aren't a big factory or anything. It’s just a few of us here doing the assembly and the packing. Sometimes we get a huge rush order at the end of the school year and we have to work through the night to get all the medals ready. The shop is a bit cluttered with samples from years ago that we never threw away. We don't have a big showroom for people to walk through. Most customers just come to the back where we work to see what we have available. We like being in Malad. It’s a good community and we know a lot of the local schools.
