We operate out of B/7-2 in Mahindra Nagar, along D.P. Road in Malad East. It’s a mix of homes and small businesses around here. Our office is a simple setup with a few desks and a lot of filing cabinets. Being in the export-import business means we spend a lot of time waiting for news from the port or checking on shipping schedules. The phones ring quite a bit and it can get a little loud when everyone is talking at once. We have a small balcony where we go to take a break and look at the traffic on D.P. Road. During the monsoon, the rain really comes down hard and we have to make sure the windows are shut tight so the papers don't get wet. We aren’t a huge corporation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a small team of us trying to make sure the goods get where they need to go. We don’t have a big polished lobby for visitors. Most of our work is done through calls and messages. It’s a bit of a grind sometimes, especially when there are delays, but we just keep at it. Mahindra Nagar is a decent place to be based and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. We just try to get the documents right and keep things moving without too much trouble.
