Our office is at 43-A, Mittal Court in Nariman Point. It’s a classic business building in a part of Mumbai that’s seen a lot of history. Ampi Agencies Pvt. Ltd. isn't a modern startup with bean bags and neon signs. We have wooden desks, filing cabinets that actually have files in them, and phones that ring fairly often. The view of the sea is nice if you stand near the window, but we’re usually too busy to look at the water. We act as agents, which means a lot of talking and a lot of paperwork. It can be stressful when a shipment is delayed or a document goes missing. We don't use much jargon or have long meetings about strategy. We just pick up the phone and get things sorted. The air conditioning is a bit old and makes a rattling noise, but it keeps the heat away. Lunch is usually ordered from a nearby place or brought from home in tiffins. We know the other people in the building; we’ve been here for years. It’s a professional environment but in a very old-school way. We don't have a big marketing team. Most people know us through word of mouth. We just keep track of the accounts and make sure our clients are taken care of. It’s a straightforward business in a busy part of town. We just come in, do the work, and go home.
