Amit Auto Spares

Our shop is over in Chembur, tucked away at Shop No-2 in the building near Castle Street. We are right by the Richmond Circle area and 573 Kumbharwada is where most of the mechanics around here know us. It is a greasy kind of business because we handle auto spares all day long. My hands are usually stained with oil or dust from moving parts around the shelves. We have everything from small bolts to larger engine components for different types of vehicles. It is a small shop, but we pack a lot into the space. The shelves are heavy metal ones because the parts weigh a lot. Sometimes it takes a minute to dig out exactly what a customer needs because things get shifted around. We talk a lot about cars and bikes with the people who come in. Most of them are looking for something specific to fix a breakdown. It is a noisy part of Sion and Chembur with all the workshops nearby. We don't have a waiting room or anything like that. People just stand by the counter or out on the sidewalk while we look for their parts. It is a straightforward business where we just try to keep the right spares on hand for whoever walks in from the street. The floor is stained with grease but that just shows we actually do the work here.
