We are located in the Fort area, which is full of those old Mumbai buildings that have so much character. Our office is Number 32 on the second floor of the Mogha building. You have to walk up the stairs since there is no lift, but it is not too bad once you get used to it. The ceilings are high and the windows are large, which is typical for these older structures in South Bombay. It can get a bit dusty with all the traffic outside, but we don't mind it much. The office is pretty simple, with some old wooden furniture and stacks of files that have been there for years. We usually hear the sounds of the street vendors and the taxis honking throughout the afternoon. Lunch is often something quick from one of the many small eateries tucked away in the lanes of Fort. We have been in this building for a long time, and we know most of the other people who work on this floor. It is a bit of a maze in this part of town if you are not familiar with the side streets. There is a certain rhythm to the day here that feels different from the newer parts of the city. We just keep our heads down and focus on the paperwork that needs doing. It is an honest way to spend the day.
