Our place, Amber Board Industries, is at Plot No. 12 on Oshiwara Marg. We are situated right behind the Saraf Kaskar Industrial Estate. It’s a bit of a dusty area with a lot of trucks and workshops. We work with boards and industrial materials. The shop floor is usually covered in sawdust or scraps, and it’s definitely not the kind of place where you’d wear a suit. We have a small office tucked in the corner, but mostly we are out where the machines are. The noise is something you just get used to after a few days. We’ve been on this plot for a long time. People in the industrial estate know us, and we know them. It’s a community of makers and workers. We don't do much in terms of promotion. Most of our work comes from people who have been buying from us for years. We just try to make sure the boards are cut right and the quality is what it needs to be. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit around and wait, which is just part of being in this part of town. We are just regular people doing a regular job. It’s not complicated. We open up early and we close when the daylight starts to fade. That’s the way it goes here on Oshiwara Marg, and we don't expect it to change much anytime soon. It is what it is.
