Allegheny Technologies Asia Inc.

Our office is in the old Bake House building, room 107. It’s right there in Fort, on that lane for the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce. If you’ve ever walked around Fort, you know how narrow and crowded those lanes are. It’s a bit of a maze inside the building, too. The stairs are narrow and the walls have that old Mumbai smell to them. Allegheny Technologies Asia Inc. sounds like a big fancy name, but our office is actually quite small. We are squeezed in with a lot of desks and a lot of wires. It’s always a bit dark because the windows are tiny and the buildings are so close together. We spend our days dealing with tech stuff and talking to people across Asia. The phone never stops ringing. Sometimes the noise from the street is so loud we have to shout to be heard. We don't have a cafeteria or a lounge. We just go down to the corner stall for vada pav or chai when we need a break. It’s a very busy place to be, but there’s a lot of history in these old buildings. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We are just trying to handle our part of the business from this little corner of Fort. It’s cramped, it’s noisy, but it’s where we work every day.
