Kalbadevi Road is always busy and full of noise, and that is where you will find us at Alkon Marketing Co. We have been at 27-29 Popatwadi for a long time now. It is a bit of a cramped space with all the boxes and files, but we make it work every day. Most of our time is spent handling orders and talking to people who walk in off the street. It is not a fancy office. We deal with marketing supplies and whatever else the customers are looking for that day. Sometimes the rain makes the narrow street outside quite messy, but the work goes on regardless. The staff here knows where everything is stored even if the shelves look a bit crowded to an outsider. We keep our ledger books and take phone calls all afternoon. It is just how things are run in this part of town. You eventually get used to the constant honking from the trucks and bikes outside. People come in looking for specific items, and we go to the back to see what we have. Usually, we can find it or we know someone nearby who has it. It is a lot of manual work, moving things around and making sure the parcels are ready to go. There are not many breaks when the market is open. We just focus on getting through the daily list of tasks. Being near Kalbadevi means there is always someone passing by the door.
