Alisha Die Works

You can find Alisha Die Works at No. 7 in the Siddique Industrial Estate. We’re right behind the Kumaria Hotel in the Marol Naka area of Andheri East. It’s a very crowded part of Mumbai, so getting here usually involves fighting through a lot of traffic. The estate itself is quite old and the buildings are packed close together. Inside our unit, it gets quite hot because of the work we do with dies and molds. There’s always the sound of metal hitting metal and the smell of cooling oil. We’ve been here for quite a while now, and the place has a lot of history etched into the floors and walls. We don't have a fancy office upstairs. Most of the business is handled right on the shop floor where the action is. Our workers are skilled with their hands, and they’ve been doing this for most of their lives. It’s a small operation, so everyone knows what everyone else is doing. We don't bother with corporate talk or polished presentations. People come to us when they need a specific die made for their production line. Sometimes the monsoon makes things difficult with the leaks in the roof, but we just put out buckets and keep going. It’s just how we do things here in Marol. We focus on the work at hand and don't worry too much about the noise or the heat outside our little workshop. There's always work to be done.
