AIRLINK ELECTRONICS is tucked away in Wing-A of N.G. Garden Coop Housing Society. It’s flat 201, so it feels more like a home than a stiff office. We are inside Gaurav Garden on Bunder Pakhadi Road in Kandivli West. Working from a residential area has its own rhythm. We hear the kids playing outside sometimes while we are checking circuits or dealing with parts. It is a quiet spot, mostly. We keep our tools and stock in the rooms and spend the day troubleshooting things. Being on the second floor means we get a bit of a breeze if the windows are open. Most of our neighbors know us by now. It’s not a big showroom with glass windows and bright lights. It’s just a place where we do our work. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped with all the boxes of electronics, but we manage to keep things organized enough to find what we need. The kitchen in the flat serves as our break room where we make tea or warm up our lunch. It feels a bit strange sometimes doing business where people live, but it works for us. We have all our testing gear on the dining table most of the time. We don’t really do any big ads. If the doorbell rings, it’s usually a delivery or someone coming to pick up a repaired board. We just keep doing what we do every day.
