Ahsan Exports

Calicut Street is one of those places that feels like old Mumbai. We are in the Beauman Building. It’s a solid old structure with high ceilings and those heavy doors. You have to go up to the second floor and find Room Number 2. That’s where Ahsan Exports operates from. It’s right in the heart of Ballard Estate. The area is quite grand with all the stone buildings, but inside it’s just us doing paperwork and checking on export orders. We handle various goods. The office is a bit cramped because we have files and samples everywhere. Calicut Street gets a bit busy with trucks and vans in the morning, but by the evening, it’s fairly quiet. We have been here at number 12 for quite a while. The fan makes a bit of noise in the corner, but it keeps the place cool enough. Ballard Estate is a nice place to work because of the history, even if the building is a bit of a climb. There isn’t an elevator that works all the time, so we just take the stairs. Most of the people around here know us. We just keep our heads down and get the shipping sorted out. It’s not an glamorous job, just a lot of checking lists and making sure things get to where they are supposed to go. It keeps us busy from morning until late, but that is just how export work goes.
