Our place is in Masjid Bunder, right on Narayan Dhuru Street. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy this area gets. We are in Gala Number 1 at building 110. It’s not a big fancy office, just a practical space where we keep our stock of fasteners. The street outside is always full of handcarts and people moving boxes around. It’s noisy and a bit chaotic, but that’s the heart of the hardware trade here. We spend most of our day answering the phone and checking what we have in the racks. Bolts, nuts, washers—we handle all those little bits that hold things together. Sometimes it’s hard to find parking nearby, so most people just walk or use the train. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. The walls are lined with boxes all the way to the ceiling. It’s a bit dusty, but we know where everything is kept. We aren't into big speeches or glossy brochures. We just sell fasteners to people who need them for their projects. Sometimes the monsoon makes the street a mess, but we keep the shutters open and keep working. It’s a tight-knit community of traders around here. Everyone knows everyone else on the street. It’s just how we do business, day in and day out. We just focus on the orders and getting them out. It’s crowded but we like it here.
