If you head into Kurla East, specifically over in Quresh Nagar, you’ll find us at 20 Bibi Block. This is a tough part of the city, and our work matches that. We run a foundry, which means it’s hot, loud, and dirty work most of the time. There is no way around that when you are melting metal. The space is filled with molds, sand, and the smell of the furnace. It’s not a place for someone who minds getting their hands black with soot. We have been operating out of this spot for a long time. The neighborhood is crowded and the lanes are narrow, so getting big trucks in and out is always a bit of a challenge. Our workers are local guys who know how to handle the heat. We don't have a fancy reception area or air conditioning in the main workshop. We just have the gear we need to cast parts. Every day is about checking the melts and making sure the molds hold up. It’s physical work. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we absolutely have to. Most of our records are kept in big ledgers or on scraps of paper clipped to boards. We just care about the metal being poured right. It’s an honest way to make a living in a busy place like Mumbai. You get used to the grit and the smoke after a while, it just becomes normal.
