Abstract Architecture Interiors

We’re based over in Worli, in Flat 11 of the Liza Building. It’s a typical old building in the Sasmi area. The space serves as both our office and a bit of a storage room for fabric samples and wood swatches that we haven't found a home for yet. It can get a bit cluttered, especially when we’re in the middle of a big interior project. We spend our mornings looking at floor plans and our afternoons visiting sites around the city to see if the carpenters are actually following the drawings. Worli traffic is always a mess, so we try to plan our site visits carefully, though it rarely works out that way. The light in the office is okay in the mornings, which is when we try to do most of our color matching. It’s just a small team of us here. We don't have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see what we do, we usually just show them pictures on a laptop or take them to a site we’re currently working on. There’s always a lot of dust from the samples, and the printer usually jams when we’re in a hurry. We just keep at it because we like seeing a room change from an empty shell into something people can actually live in. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking on small details that most people wouldn't even notice. We’ve been in Liza Building for a while and the location is handy for getting around. Sometimes we eat lunch at our desks while looking at tile catalogs. It’s not a corporate lifestyle, but it’s the work we know how to do.
