We are located on the ground floor of Broach Sadan, which is right on Devji Ratansi Marg. Being in units 1 and 2 gives us a bit of room, but it still feels crowded with all the inventory we keep. The shelves are packed from floor to ceiling with different types of industrial tools and bits. It’s a busy street outside, so there is always the sound of horns and people shouting. We don't have a lot of space for sitting around. Most of the time, we are standing behind the counter helping someone find a specific size of drill or a particular gauge. The lighting is a bit yellow, and the floor is made of those old stone tiles that have worn down over the years. We keep a ledger for the regular customers who come in from the nearby workshops. Sometimes the delivery crates arrive and block the entrance for a while until we can unpack them. It’s a straightforward shop. We don’t have a fancy display window; we just put some of the newer stock near the front so people can see it. We spend a lot of time counting items for inventory, which can be tedious but it has to be done. Most days, we just drink our tea and wait for the next person to walk in with a broken tool they need to replace. It’s a steady pace and we like it that way.
