Finding us at No. 26 - B in Maruti Lane can be a bit of a challenge if you aren't used to the Bhuleshwar area. It’s tucked away in Fulgalli, where the streets are narrow and always full of people. A. S. Joshi And Company has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. The building is old and the stairs are a little steep, but it has character. Every morning, the tea seller comes around and that’s usually when we start our day. It’s crowded, noisy, and hot, especially in the middle of the afternoon when the market is at its peak. We don’t have much space, so every corner of the shop is used for something. Stock is piled up high and we know exactly which box has what. It’s a very traditional way of working. We talk to our neighbors, complain about the rain when it leaks through the old roof, and just keep going. People know us by name here. We don't do any big advertising. Most folks just walk in because they’ve been coming to Maruti Lane for years. It’s the kind of place where business is done with a lot of talk and a bit of sweating. We don't have air conditioning or fancy computers. We just have our ledgers and our goods. Delivery carts are always rattling past the door, but we don't mind the noise anymore.
