If you know Zaveri Bazar, you know how packed those narrow lanes get. A Premco Uniform Fabrics is tucked away in Navi Gulli, specifically at units 15 and 16 inside the Mulji Jatha Market. We’re right across from Tribhuvan Bimji Javeri, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us in the crowd. The shop is filled floor to ceiling with rolls of fabric, mostly meant for uniforms of all kinds. It’s a bit of a maze in here sometimes, especially when new stock arrives and we have to find space for it in the back. We’ve been operating out of Marine Lines for a long time, dealing with wholesalers and regular people looking for specific cloth. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but we know where everything is kept. You get used to the noise of the market outside and the heavy smell of new textiles. We spend our days unrolling fabric, measuring it out, and cutting pieces for orders. It’s a manual job, and our hands are usually dusty and tired by the end of the day. The market has its own rhythm, and we’re just one small part of it. We don't have a big front window, just the door leading into our stacks of cloth. It’s a practical place where people come when they need a specific weave or color for school or work clothes. We just keep our heads down and handle the orders as they come in. It’s what we do.
